Festival of Books in the Alleghenies

The Allegheny Regional Festival of Books is an annual event but held at rotating locations. It will be in Somerset in 2019 and Ebensburg 2020 and back to Bedford in 2021. Location and times TBA.

DESCRIPTION: Tom McMillan, author of Flight 93: The Story, The Aftermath and The Legacy of American Courage on 9/11, will be the keynote speaker at the Festival of Books Friday Evening Keynote Author Reception. The reception will be held at the Somerset Historical Center, 10649 Somerset Pike.
Saturday: A full day of events will include an author tent and a children’s tent, chat with authors and get their books signed, live storytelling and poetry reading events around town, and beginner and intermediate writing workshops. There is no charge for attending the Festival, registration is required for the writing workshops.
Festival of Books in the Alleghenies is a celebration of books hosted annually in a scenic region of Pennsylvania. The Festival brings together local and regional authors under a main and a children’s tent, while storytellers, poets, and walking guides deliver live presentations around town.
The 2019 Festival of Books will be held in Somerset, Pennsylvania, and will begin with a Friday Evening Keynote Author Reception on September 20. The main festival will be held on Saturday, September 21.
Note that the Festival of Books in the Alleghenies has a new name in 2019. The inaugural festival operated as the Allegheny Regional Festival of Books and was held in Bedford, PA.
