Carpatho-Rusyn Celebration Ethnic Festival
DESCRIPTION: The annual Carpatho-Rusyn Celebration ethnic festival will have ethnic foods such as holubki, pirohi, halushki, kielbasa and sauerkraut, soup, potato pancakes, palachinki, baked goods, and much more. This annual event will feature folk-dancing, performances of Rusyn Folk music and cooking demonstration.
The Carpatho-Rusyn Society will have a display of artifacts, authentic costumes, models of Rusyn wooden churches, photographs, and documents, and will assist in genealogical questions. There will be pysanky, iconography, woodburning, bobbin lace making, and folk art demonstrations, music, church tours, children’s activities such as egg art, cookie decorating, coloring/ craft projects, and storytelling, speakers on various cultural topics, displays of Carpatho-Rusyn culture, crafts, raffles, and much more. Admission is free.
