Slippery Rock Community Farmers and Makers Market
WHEN: Weekly on Saturdays – 9AM to Noon – May through October.
2017 Season Dates: May 6, 2017 thru October 28, 2017
DESCRIPTION: Each week, the Slippery Rock Community Farmers and Makers Market is held in a relaxed setting along the Slippery Rock Creek in beautiful Rock Falls Park. We offer live local music, guest speakers, kids activities, and the freshest, healthiest food around.
The Mission of the Market is to promote and support local agriculture and farming families and to enhance the cultural experience of the Slippery Rock Community while increasing consumer appreciation for high-quality local farm and homemade products.
We encourage our patrons to get to know our growers and to ask them about the agricultural process that brought the food from farm to market. Feel free to ask your growers where their farm is, how long they have been a producer, what farming practices they use and how they comply with state and Market policies.
Our vendors have a variety of products ranging from organic to sustainable apples, strawberries, red and golden raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, elderberries, blueberries, lettuces, beets, carrots, corn, heirloom tomatoes, kale, summer and fall squashes, rutabagas, cucumbers, zucchini, red, white, purple and Yukon potatoes, fresh and dried herbs, beans, Lima beans, eggplant, parsnips, bell, hot and sweet peppers, braising greens, red and white onions, okra, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, sugar snap peas, snow peas, scallions, garlic and garlic braids.
We also carry great local meats, eggs, honey, fresh cut flowers, fresh baked goods, bread, pies, cakes, cookies, rolls, pickled and canned goods, homemade soaps, lotions, and salves, fair trade coffee, tea and chocolates, handmade jewelry and paper crafts.
