Evans City Oktoberfest
DESCRIPTION: The Oktoberfest starts Friday morning. Saturday parade at 11AM and fireworks in the evening around 8PM. Sunday, there is a community church service from 11AM to noon. Set up starts the day before at 2PM.
All 3 days vendors are open and selling crafts, food and what ever else they have.
Entertainment takes place on a stage Friday afternoon and Saturday, all day, with music groups rounding out the evening. Sunday, there is also music groups in the afternoon.
We also have a great Chinese auction running all 3 days. Winners are pulled at 4PM on Sunday. Winners need not be present. A 50/50 raffle also runs all 3 days, every 2-3 hours.
On Sunday, Route 68 in Evans City is shut down and we have an Antique Car Cruise with a DJ that plays oldies music during the event. There are about 150 cars or so.
There is Beer served and some German cuisine along with many other cuisines. There are tables to sit and eat. Here, you may talk to friends or listen to the music.
There are also children rides, a blow up slide, and a bounce house. We also have a children’s tractor pull, with trophies awarded. Also for children, there is a duck pond, and other games of chance.
Amish donuts are there Friday and Saturday all day long.
We have a roving reporter dressed in authentic lederhosen. The Reporter roams around and announces several times a day, what all vendors are selling and serving. He also announces the events that are going on all day long.
