San Rocco Festa
San Rocco Italian Festival
DESCRIPTION: The annual San Rocco Festa has been celebrated in Western Pennsylvania for over 90 years. Festival attendees from around the country, as well as Italy, have been in attendance.
The tradition of the San Rocco Festa was brought to the Aliquippa area by immigrants from Patrica, Italy, where St. Rocco is the patron saint. The San Rocco Festa not only honors the tradition of our patron saint San Rocco and the memory of our ancestors, but also to preserve Italian heritage and culture in America.
The San Rocco Festa is the longest running ethnic event in Western PA. It has been filed with the Library of Congress as a Local Legacy.
Events at the park are Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings 6PM to 11PM. There are concerts and singers all three evenings including The San Rocco Festa Band performing as part of our rich tradition. Saturday night to end the night is a spectacular fireworks display. Sunday night as a finale of the Festa, is the annual Baby Doll Dance – a must see for those who have not experienced it.
Visit our Website (link below) for more information on the events for the mass, procession and the events at Center Township Municipal Park.
In addition to the festivities at Center Municipal Park, The American Italian Club (AIC) host events on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon. These events are concurrent with other community activities. The AIC events go into the night, with Festa after-parties featuring food, DJ music and dancing at the club.
The AIC will also be hosting an our Annual Procession Celebration along the parade route on Sunday from 11AM to 6PM when the San Rocco Festa opens. The AIC also hosts an Italian buffet on Sunday afternoon at 3PM.
