The Pittsburgh Polishfest

DESCRIPTION: Polishfest is a free “family-oriented festival” of Polish and Lithuanian music, song, dance and culture. This cultural event is free and open to the public. A full schedule of continuous activities have been planned including live folk dance entertainment, cultural displays, Polish Gift and Import Mart, Lithuanian and Polish cooking, Baltic Amber Sale and Display, folk-art demonstrations, children’s “make-n-take” folk crafts wool spinning, lace making, Polish Bakery, ethnic foods and polka music. The theme of this year’s festival is “Celebrate the Polish and Lithuanian Kingdom with “Folk Songs & Music – Radoslaw Fizek”, “Frania’s Polka Celebration”, The Lithuanian Citizen’s Club, “Bociai Lithuanian Folk Group”, “Lajkoniki” Dance Ensemble of McKeesport, Pa, and the Polish Falcon’s of America. Join in and dance the polka, enjoy some pierogi, create your very own paper cutting or have your child make some Medieval Folk Crafts and much more. Proceeds to benefit the University Of Pittsburgh, Nationality Room Scholarship Fund. This event is partially funded by the Polish Falcon’s of America.
